The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Cryptocurrency Working Group announced the full agenda and guest list for the roundtable meeting "DeFi and the American Spirit" to be held on June 9. The event will focus on the role of decentralized finance (DeFi) in the U.S. legal and regulatory system, aiming to promote a policy environment that protects investors and encourages innovation.
"DeFi embodies the potential of cryptocurrency because it allows people to interact without intermediaries. I look forward to discussing with experts how to create a regulatory environment that is conducive to the prosperity of DeFi."
The meeting will be held at the SEC headquarters from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and will be open to the public at 12:00 p.m. The SEC official website will provide a live webcast simultaneously so that the wider public and industry participants can follow in real time.
According to official information, SEC representatives attending the meeting include: Chairman Paul S. Atkins, Chief Assistant for Crypto Affairs Richard B. Gabbert, and three commissioners Caroline A. Crenshaw, Mark T. Uyeda and Hester M. Peirce.
The roundtable discussion guest lineup covers multiple key nodes in the DeFi and blockchain fields, including project parties, legal advisors, policy advisors and academia. Invitees include:

This public meeting led by him is expected to promote more constructive results of the SEC on DeFi regulatory issues.
