DRW invests in Trump Media, becoming a major bettor on crypto assets

According to people familiar with the matter, DRW Investments, an investment company under American financial tycoon Don Wilson, recently bought about 4 million shares of Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), with a total value of about $100 million, becoming one of the group's important investors in cryptocurrency betting.

TMTG is a media and technology company founded by Trump, and its stock price has attracted widespread attention from investors due to its political and crypto asset concepts. This increase in DRW's holdings marks the deepening of traditional financial giants' bets on crypto policy games. The largest crypto betting investor of TMTG is DRW's competitor, the well-known quantitative trading company Jane Street, which has invested a total of about $375 million.

DRW Investments has always been an active participant in the crypto asset market. As an important behind-the-scenes force of market makers and trading platforms, DRW has layouts in many fields such as DeFi, stablecoins, and crypto futures. The company has publicly called on U.S. regulators to carry out structural reforms, advocating the establishment of a new dedicated digital asset regulator to replace the existing U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to more effectively manage the complexity and technical characteristics of the crypto market.
