Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and xAI, posted on the social platform X that he and the xAI team worked overnight and the Grok 4 model has made "good progress" and is expected to be officially released after July 4, 2025.
Musk also revealed that after the release of Grok 4, the team will launch a large-scale training specifically for programming tasks to further improve its code understanding and generation capabilities. This move may mean that xAI is accelerating the in-depth application of its large language model in professional vertical fields, especially in the direction of code-assisted development and intelligent programming.
The Grok series model is a ChatGPT-like large language model independently developed by xAI, which has been integrated into the subscription service of the X platform. Grok 3 was launched in early 2024 and has functions such as multi-round dialogue, programming assistance, and search fusion.
At present, xAI is maintaining a high degree of coordination with Tesla and the X platform, and Musk himself has repeatedly emphasized the long-term strategic goals of its model in "real world understanding" and "embedded platform deployment".
More performance details, training scale and application plans for Grok 4 have not yet been officially disclosed by xAI.
