Coinbase Completes Acquisition of Liquifi to Build a Full Lifecycle Token Service System

In 2025, Coinbase continued to accelerate its strategic layout in the field of crypto infrastructure. The company recently completed the acquisition of token management platform Liquifi, which is its fourth acquisition this year. Aklil Ibssa, head of corporate development at Coinbase, declined to disclose the specific terms of the transaction in an interview. But he emphasized that the acquisition is a key part of Coinbase's "building a full-cycle product capability from token issuance to trading listing", which will enable the company to have a more complete tool chain support in serving crypto projects.

Liquifi is a technology platform that focuses on providing token attribution management and tax automation services for Web3 projects. It has previously completed a $5 million seed round of financing led by Dragonfly. Its clients include well-known institutions such as the Uniswap Foundation and OP Labs. It has been regarded by the industry as a representative of a new generation of compliant token management services.

As the crypto industry gradually moves towards institutionalization and scale, the issuance, attribution, unlocking plan, tax compliance and other needs of tokens are becoming increasingly professional. Through this acquisition, Coinbase not only gained an experienced team, but also a technical framework that supports native compliance operations of tokens, which will help its corporate services business stay ahead in the tide of institutionalization.

Currently, Coinbase is continuing to develop in depth towards the "infrastructure layer" of the crypto industry chain, striving to expand from the role of an exchange to a "complete service platform for crypto assets." From custody, clearing, compliance to token tool chains, Coinbase's corporate customer product portfolio is becoming increasingly three-dimensional.

The acquisition of Liquifi also once again confirms its long-term strategic vision of "beyond trading" - through technology integration and ecological construction, it lays the foundation for the mainstreaming of the crypto industry in the next stage.
