A reporter from the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily has recently learned that Meituan's first AI agent product, the "Xiaomei" app, is about to begin large-scale public testing.
Officially described as a "small and beautiful AI life assistant," the app aims to reshape the user experience in daily local services through intelligent interaction, further enhancing the efficiency and humanization of Meituan's service response.
It is reported that "Xiaomei" is powered by Meituan's proprietary large-scale model, LongCat-Flash-Chat, launched earlier this month. This model boasts strong capabilities in semantic understanding, multi-turn conversations, and task planning, enabling it to accurately respond to users' various daily service requests expressed in natural language.
Users simply make requests through casual conversation, and "Xiaomei" automatically accesses Meituan's internal system interfaces to complete a series of operations, such as takeout orders, restaurant recommendations, reservations, and route navigation, creating a closed-loop "one-sentence service" experience.
This product launch is not only a key step for Meituan to implement large-scale model technology as an agent, but also marks the official entry of local life services into a new stage of "AI native." By lowering the user operation threshold, improving service accuracy and process automation, "Xiaomei" is expected to become the core vehicle for Meituan's shift from a "platform connection" to an "intelligent agent" business model.
Industry observers point out that Meituan's move is intended to further consolidate its leading position in the local life sector, and use AI Agent as a hub to connect multiple scenarios including in-store, home delivery, and travel, to build a smarter and more seamless service ecosystem.
The dual layout of the model layer and the application layer also reflects Meituan's strategic determination not to fall behind in the wave of AI technology.
At present, Meituan has not yet announced the timetable for the official launch of "Xiaomei", but the launch of this public beta means that its technical verification and user experience optimization have entered a critical stage.
