It has been officially confirmed that Eric Trump, son of US President Donald Trump and well-known entrepreneur, will attend the BTC Asia Summit in Hong Kong from August 28 to 29, 2025 and deliver a keynote speech.

It is reported that this summit brings together policymakers, crypto companies, traditional financial institutions and technology developers from Asia Pacific, America and the Middle East, focusing on topics such as stablecoins, RWA (real world assets), DeFi and cross-border regulation. Eric Trump's attendance is expected to attract widespread attention from the political and capital markets.

Eric Trump has long been concerned about the Bitcoin and digital asset markets. He has publicly described Bitcoin as "digital gold" many times and said that its anti-censorship properties have long-term value in the context of global inflation and sovereign risks. He has also criticized the Biden administration's regulatory attitude towards the crypto industry, believing that the current policy "hinders the United States' dominance in the Web3 field."

His younger brother Donald Trump Jr. is also expected to attend the Korea Blockchain Week (KBW) in Seoul in September and participate in discussions on digital financial sovereignty and emerging market strategies.

Eric Trump's visit coincides with the critical stage of Hong Kong's accelerated promotion of the crypto asset regulatory system. In the first half of 2025, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Securities and Futures Commission have solicited opinions on the draft regulatory framework for stablecoins, covering issuer qualifications, asset protection mechanisms and cross-border settlement scenarios, and plan to officially implement it before the end of the year.

In contrast, the US "GENIUS Act" (Giving Every Nation a United and Independent System Act) has been slow to advance in Congress and is still in the hearing and revision stage. Many international media analysts believe that Hong Kong is accelerating its efforts to seize the position of a regional hub for crypto finance and provide a clearer compliance channel for Asian and global capital.
