On August 27 (UTC 8), the Hong Kong Association of Listed Companies in Digital Assets (HKVALA) held its grand inauguration ceremony in Central, Hong Kong.
Dr. Wu Jiezhuang, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Hong Kong Legislative Council's Web3 and Virtual Asset Development Subcommittee, attended the ceremony as guest of honor and delivered a speech.
Dr. Wu Jiezhuang noted in his speech that the establishment of the HKVALA marks a significant milestone in the development of digital assets in Hong Kong, demonstrating the industry's enormous potential and marking a significant step forward in Hong Kong's internationalization.
He stated that while the overall market capitalization of Hong Kong's digital asset market remains relatively limited, with the continued optimization and improvement of the SAR's policies and regulatory framework, the industry ecosystem will mature, and both the number of listed companies and market size are expected to see significant growth.
Dr. Wu further emphasized that in promoting the healthy development of the digital asset industry, Hong Kong should place particular emphasis on investor education and market guidance to help the public correctly understand the value and risks of digital assets.
At the same time, he also called on the industry to actively publicize Hong Kong's significant advantages in legal norms and regulatory frameworks, enhance the international community's confidence in Hong Kong's digital asset market, attract more global capital and professional institutions to participate, and jointly promote Hong Kong to become an internationally competitive virtual asset hub.
