OpenAI has reached an agreement with Luxshare Precision to jointly produce wearable devices

On September 19th, The Information reported that leading artificial intelligence company OpenAI has reached a major partnership with Chinese consumer electronics giant Luxshare Precision.

The two parties will jointly develop and produce OpenAI's future intelligent hardware devices. According to current plans, OpenAI's first independently developed hardware product is expected to be officially released to the market in late 2026 or early 2027.

OpenAI is actively exploring various innovative device types. Currently under consideration include smart glasses, professional-grade recording equipment, and clip-on wearable devices.

These devices are designed to integrate more naturally and immersively into users' daily lives and work scenarios, further expanding the application boundaries of its AI technology. As a key partner in Apple's supply chain, Luxshare Precision's design and manufacturing capabilities in the consumer electronics field will provide solid support for OpenAI.

This partnership is also seen as a key step in OpenAI's strategy to build an "AI hardware" ecosystem, aiming to provide users with a more integrated and user-friendly AI experience through terminal devices, beyond ChatGPT.
