In a keynote speech delivered recently at Abu Dhabi Finance Week, OKX CEO Star pointed out that the generation that grew up with the internet—the "internet generation"—is shaping an unprecedented on-chain economic system.

He predicted that within the next few decades, nearly half of global economic activity will be powered by blockchain technology.

Star emphasized that this is not a short-term speculative trend, but a necessary demand from a new generation that has grown up in a digital, mobile, and AI-driven environment, for a financial infrastructure that deeply aligns with their lifestyle.

Star further explained that this transformation is essentially a comprehensive evolution of the economic system driven by the global digital population.

Among numerous technological paths, blockchain stands out because it directly addresses and overcomes the structural limitations of the legacy systems from the traditional internet era.

Blockchain provides a trustless, programmable storage and interaction infrastructure, allowing value to flow freely in a 24/7, instant, and global manner. At the same time, it reduces systemic risks in the financial system through gradually increasing transparency and aims to build an open, interconnected network ecosystem, rather than a series of closed global financial silos.

He concluded that in every cycle of technological evolution, more open, transparent, and efficient systems ultimately prevail.

And each generation of young people is always the first to embrace and drive this fundamental change. Today, the new economic architecture based on blockchain is the financial track that this generation is laying for the future world—it is not only about technological upgrading, but also a paradigm shift in the way economic and social collaboration takes place.
