Coinbase appoints former UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne to lead its advisory board.

On December 18th, Reuters reported that US cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced the appointment of former British Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne to lead its internal advisory board, aiming to expand its policy influence outside the United States. Osborne joined Coinbase as an advisor in January 2024 and will be more actively involved in communicating with global policymakers. He will be based in London. In addition, Osborne was recently hired by US artificial intelligence company OpenAI to oversee its overseas data center expansion, and also serves as Chairman of the British Museums, Partner at Robey Warshaw LLP, and Chairman of Lingotto Asset Management.
