Recently, Douyin (TikTok's Chinese version) officially released the "Douyin Community Financial Industry Convention (Trial)," further clarifying and regulating the dissemination of financial content on the platform.
It specifically emphasizes a strict ban on using emerging technologies such as blockchain and digital assets to disguise and disseminate information related to illegal financial activities, including virtual currency exchange, providing information intermediaries and pricing services for virtual currency transactions.
This convention aims to prevent new financial risks, protect users' assets, and maintain a healthy and positive community environment. Douyin reiterated its commitment to continuously combating any attempts to use new technologies as a pretext for illegal advertising or misleading users into participating in illegal financial activities related to virtual currencies, and to jointly promote the compliant and professional development of financial content dissemination.
This move reflects the platform's proactive fulfillment of its primary responsibility, its response to national financial regulatory policies, and its commitment to providing users with a genuine, safe, and reliable financial content ecosystem.
Douyin also stated that it will continue to improve community guidelines, promote industry self-regulation, and facilitate the orderly development of financial information dissemination platforms.
