Ethereum community launches Ethereum Guild to enhance the value of ETH

Ethereum’s price has been sliding since December, and this new nonprofit was formed to address this.

The Ethereum community has formed a new nonprofit called Ethereum Guild to help boost the value of Ethereum (ETH), whose poor performance has led to internal discord and even death threats against former Ethereum Foundation executive director Aya Miyaji.

Ethereum Guild, announced Monday, is one of several entities supporting the Ethereum network. Miyaji’s exile follows the formation of another new entity, Etherealize, which recently joined as a co-founder by respected developer Danny Ryan. Etherealize is focused on driving institutional adoption of the Ethereum ecosystem.

Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin dubbed it “the world computer” when the network launched in 2015. Now, after a 50% drop in value and a loss of $250 billion since December 2024, when Ethereum (ETH) trades at around $4,000, Ethereum Guild hopes to extend its original tagline to “ETH is money.”

"Ethereum is the world computer, ETH is the currency," reads an image released by the organization. "Without Ethereum, there is no value in ETH. Without ETH, there is no economic security in Ethereum."

Ethereum is currently trading at $1,951.21, up 4.66% over the past 24 hours.
