A new benchmark for corporate Bitcoin investment: Strategy holds 576,230 Bitcoins

Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) recently increased its Bitcoin investment again, consolidating its position as the world's largest corporate Bitcoin holder. According to the company's disclosure, between May 12 and 18, 2025, Strategy purchased 7,390 Bitcoins, with a total expenditure of approximately US$764.9 million and an average purchase price of US$103,498 per Bitcoin.

As of May 18, 2025, Strategy held a total of 576,230 Bitcoins, with a cumulative investment of approximately US$40.18 billion and an average purchase cost of US$69,726 per Bitcoin. Since the beginning of the year, the company's Bitcoin investment has achieved a return of 16.3%, showing its firm long-term bullish stance.

Since first adding Bitcoin to its balance sheet in 2020, Strategy has positioned it as a major corporate asset reserve. The company has raised funds through a variety of methods, including issuing convertible bonds, stocks and preferred stocks, to continue to increase its holdings of Bitcoin. For example, in the first quarter of 2025, the company raised more than $769 million through stock sales, convertible bond issuances, and preferred stock issuances to purchase Bitcoin.

Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy, has always been a staunch supporter of Bitcoin. He sees Bitcoin as an effective tool to combat inflation and fiat currency depreciation. He once said: "Bitcoin is the digital gold of our time and an ideal choice for corporate reserve assets."

Despite the volatility of Bitcoin prices, Strategy still adheres to its long-term investment strategy. The company believes that as global acceptance of Bitcoin increases and the regulatory environment gradually clarifies, the long-term value of Bitcoin will continue to rise.

Strategy's continued investment has also had a demonstration effect on other companies. For example, Metaplanet, a Japanese listed company, has recently increased its investment in Bitcoin, showing that companies are increasingly interested in digital assets.

As Bitcoin continues to gain acceptance around the world, Strategy's investment strategy may be adopted by more companies, further promoting Bitcoin's position in corporate asset allocation.
