Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange backed by the billionaire Winklevoss twins, has named Dan Chen as its new chief financial officer. The news comes as Gemini recently filed confidentially to go public.
Prior to joining Gemini, Chen held a senior position at fintech company Affirm Inc., where he led capital markets and bank partnerships. During his tenure, he successfully grew the company's secured financing to over $20 billion.
In a statement, Chen expressed his enthusiasm for his new position. "I am excited to announce my joining Gemini as CFO," he said. "I will be working with Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss and the talented team at Gemini to usher in a new era of personal, financial and creative freedom."
Chen also highlighted the dynamic nature of the cryptocurrency industry and Gemini's role in this revolution. "Cryptocurrency is the most dynamic sector in finance, and Gemini is at the forefront of this revolution - making it simple and secure to participate in the digital asset space," he said.
As the new CFO, Chen will be responsible for driving Gemini's financial strategy and preparing the company for its next phase of growth. His experience and expertise in the fintech sector will help Gemini scale its business.
