Bitcoin ISO official code domain "XBT.com" was auctioned, with a starting price of nearly $2.8 million

According to the official website of Lloyds Auctions, the official code domain name "XBT.com" of the Bitcoin International Standards Organization ISO has started an auction. The auction will end on March 28 with a starting price of $2,798,917. Lee Hames, COO of the auction house, speculated that Musk, Bezos, and even Trump may participate in the bidding.

"XBT" is the ISO4217 currency code of Bitcoin, which was launched around 2013. Similar to gold (XAU) and silver (XAG), exchanges such as Kraken and BitMEX are still using XBT as some URLs and API endpoints, but have switched to BTC during Bitcoin's last halving cycle.
