On Monday (November 24th) local time, US AI startup Anthropic announced on its website the release of its latest AI model, "Claude Opus 4.5."
Anthropic stated that the model is intelligent and efficient, "currently the best-performing model globally in coding, intelligent agents, and computer applications, and significantly outperforms other models in everyday tasks such as deep research, processing slides, and spreadsheets."
It is understood that Opus 4.5 is Anthropic's third major model release in just two months. The company released Sonnet 4.5 in late September and Haiku 4.5 in October. This again demonstrates the astonishing speed of development in the AI industry.
Anthropic is best known for its series of AI models called Claude. The largest model is typically called Opus, the medium-sized model Sonnet, and the smallest Haiku. The previous Opus model, Opus 4.1, was released in August of this year.
"The speed at which we're releasing products to market, and the resulting feedback loop, is incredibly exciting," said Scott White, product lead at Claude.ai, a subsidiary of Anthropic, in an interview.
White stated that the ideal users of Opus 4.5 are professional software developers, as well as knowledge workers such as financial analysts, consultants, and accountants. He added that those who "want to unleash their creativity, build new things, and expand their career boundaries" will also find this model very useful.
In terms of "agentic coding," Opus 4.5 has reached the state-of-the-art level. According to the SWE-bench benchmark used to measure AI programming ability, Opus 4.5 outperforms Google's Gemini 3 Pro released last week and OpenAI's GPT-5.1.

Anthropic also stated that they put Opus 4.5 through a highly challenging closed-book test, a set of questions typically used to select top software engineers, and the model scored higher than any human candidate in history.
The press release indicated that Opus 4.5 will be available on all platforms and will become the default model for Anthropic's Pro, Max, and Enterprise products. In addition to the new model, the company announced several product and feature updates.
Anthropic stated that Claude for Chrome, an extension that allows Claude to operate across different browser tabs, is now available to all Max users; Claude for Excel, which can understand and edit spreadsheets, has also been rolled out to all paid users.
Furthermore, Anthropic has integrated Claude Code into its desktop applications and added new features to its developer platform.
