The eighth Legislative Council election of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region concluded successfully on December 7th, with the election results being announced progressively.

Amidst fierce competition, Legislative Council member Wu Jiezhuang was successfully re-elected with 1311 votes, continuing his service to the public in the Legislative Council.

Upon learning of his re-election, Wu Jiezhuang said: “This election was highly competitive, and I am deeply honored to have received the support of the voters again. In the next four years, I will continue to implement my election platform, actively promote the development of Hong Kong's finance and technology innovation, particularly focusing on cutting-edge fields such as Web3 and artificial intelligence, to help Hong Kong create new economic growth points.”

He further pointed out that Hong Kong, as an international financial center, is at a critical stage of technology-driven transformation. He will actively promote relevant policy discussions and resource allocation in the Legislative Council, foster cooperation among industries, academia, and research institutions, and inject new impetus into Hong Kong's efforts to consolidate its financial advantages and embrace the digital age.

Wu Jiezhuang also stated that he will continue to widely listen to opinions from all sectors of society and pragmatically promote policies and projects that are conducive to Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and the well-being of its citizens.

This election was another important practice held after the improvement of the electoral system, reflecting the implementation of the principle of "patriots governing Hong Kong."
