YouTube launches stablecoin payment feature; creators can receive PYUSD via PayPal.

According to Fortune, YouTube has rolled out a new feature for US creators to receive stablecoin payments via PayPal. May Zabaneh, PayPal's head of cryptocurrency, confirmed that creators can now choose to receive their platform revenue share in PayPal's stablecoin PYUSD. This feature is currently only available to US users. YouTube was already a customer of PayPal's payment service, using it to provide gig and contractor payments for large enterprises. Earlier this year, PayPal added the ability to receive payments in PYUSD for its payment recipients, and YouTube subsequently decided to extend this option to creators. Zabaneh stated, "The advantage we built is that YouTube doesn't have to directly handle cryptocurrency; we helped eliminate that complexity."
