Recently, the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment held a meeting to deploy further efforts to strengthen cybersecurity and informatization.

The meeting pointed out that, facing the urgent need for modernization of ecological and environmental governance under the new circumstances, it is imperative to attach great importance to and continuously strengthen the foundational capabilities of cybersecurity and informatization.

It is necessary to actively promote the deep integration of new-generation information technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain with all aspects of ecological and environmental supervision and governance, fully leveraging their enabling roles in environmental monitoring and early warning, pollution source tracing, ecological assessment, and decision support, and building a data-driven precision governance model.

The meeting emphasized that in the process of informatization, it is essential to simultaneously strengthen network and information security defenses, improve the security management system, and ensure the security and controllability of ecological and environmental data throughout its entire lifecycle.
