December 23 (Cailian Press) – Just like traditional computers, quantum computers can also "malfunction." During operation, they sometimes lose atoms used for computation, which can cause the calculation to be interrupted. However, according to the latest issue of *Physical Review X*, the US quantum computer manufacturer Atomic Computing has demonstrated a neutral atom quantum computer that can self-repair during operation, overcoming the key challenge of atomic loss. This lays the foundation for developing sustainably operating quantum computers and provides new ideas for the large-scale application of quantum computing.
