Guangdong: Actively cultivate innovative platforms driven by technologies such as artificial intelligence and Web3.0

According to a November 20th announcement on the Guangdong Provincial Government website, the Guangdong Provincial Government issued the "Construction Plan for the Guangdong Provincial National Digital Economy Innovation and Development Pilot Zone (2025-2027)," proposing to promote the healthy development of the platform economy through ecosystem building. The plan includes conducting a survey of platform enterprises and establishing a province-wide database. It also aims to tap the potential of platform enterprises in specific industry segments and actively cultivate innovative platforms driven by technologies such as artificial intelligence and Web 3.0 (the third generation of the internet). Furthermore, the plan guides platform enterprises to reasonably determine basic commission standards for small and micro-sized merchants and commission rates for flexible employment personnel, strengthens the protection of the rights and interests of small and medium-sized merchants and workers in new employment forms, and leverages the leading role of platform enterprises in promoting innovation, expanding consumption, and stabilizing employment.
