A serious fire broke out in Wang Fuk Court, Tai Po, Hong Kong. Several Web3 companies and organizations quickly responded, making generous donations to support emergency rescue, victim resettlement, and community reconstruction efforts.

On November 26th, a serious fire broke out at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, Hong Kong. The fire, which started in scaffolding being used for large-scale exterior wall repairs, quickly spread to multiple residential buildings, causing significant casualties and becoming one of the most serious residential fires in Hong Kong in recent years.

The fire alarm was upgraded from level three to level five in a short period of time and continued to burn for over twenty-four hours. Many residents were trapped and required emergency evacuation, including firefighters who unfortunately lost their lives or were injured.

As of 5:00 AM on November 28th, the Wang Fuk Court fire had resulted in 94 deaths. Of the 78 injured, 12 were in critical condition, 28 were seriously injured, 16 were stable, and 22 had been discharged after treatment. The Hong Kong Fire Services Department reported on the morning of the 28th that the firefighting operation had been completed, and that subsequent search and rescue efforts would be carried out to check each household to ensure no one was still trapped.

Meanwhile, several Web3 companies and organizations quickly responded, making generous donations to support emergency rescue, victim resettlement, and community rebuilding efforts.

November 27, 7:00 PM: KuCoin donated HK$2 million through the Tongren Foundation;

November 27, 7:00 PM: MicroBit Capital donated US$100,000 (approximately HK$780,000);

November 27, 6:00 PM: Avenir Group and its charitable foundation donated HK$10 million;

November 27, 6:00 PM: Jack Kong, founder of Nano Labs and director of Hong Kong Cyberport, and Jessica Yang, CEO of ME Group, jointly donated digital currency worth HK$1 million;

November 27, 3:00 PM: HashKey made an emergency donation of HK$10 million.
